Thank you for your interest in holding a youth group work weekend at Tuscarora Inn & Conference Center.

Tuscarora will donate to the youth group $50.00 for each worker (payment for 5 meals). There will also be a small amount added for each snack shop worker. A letter will be sent when you confirm a weekend for your group. A deposit of $100 is needed to secure a date. Once your group works, the deposit will be returned with your donation check.

Please give us a call if you have any questions or if you would like to reserve a work weekend for your group. Weekends book up well in advance, so please plan ahead.

Number of Workers: Typically, 10-15 workers are needed. A closer estimate will be given when you reserve a weekend. Chaperones who are included in that number and work will also be paid. If the chaperone is there only to supervise they will not be paid.

Age: Please try to limit your group to those age 15 and over. By law, the minimum age allowable is 14, but we prefer 15 or over.

Lodging: Tuscarora provides the lodging but NO linen for your group. Some weekends we will not be able to get you settled into rooms until 11:00 PM. Some may have to sleep on mattresses on the floor.

Meals: Meals are provided at scheduled times. Please clean up staff tables after eating.

Discipline: At least one male and one female chaperone must accompany the group. They are responsible for enforcing the following rules and any others you establish. They are also responsible to help supervise in the dining room.

1. Quiet Time on the grounds is at 11:00 PM.  Curfew (being in rooms) is at 11:30.
2. This is very important: NO guys in girl's rooms, and NO girls in guy's rooms.
3. Christian music only. It should never be heard outside of the rooms.
4. Arrive on time according to the schedule.
5. Straighten up your rooms before departing.

Activities: You are on your own to plan any activities in the evening. Please keep in mind that some of the over-16 youth may have to work in the Snack Shop (8:30-11:30 PM). You are welcome to attend Mt. Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church on Sunday morning or make your own plans.

Uniforms: The following dress code is required of all waitstaff:

1. Black pants or skirts (knee length, NO mini skirts) and a white button-down shirt or blouse.
2. All Black shoes and black socks.
3. Hair that touches shoulders must be tied back.
4. NO body piercings with the exception of earrings for girls ONLY.

Schedule: A typical weekend schedule is listed below. Free time is approximate and varies with the speed of the workers. It is also possible that guests' meal schedules may change.

7:15 AM - Orientation (Mandatory)
7:45 AM - Arrive for Staff Breakfast
8:30 AM - Guest Breakfast Served
** serve, clear,& reset for lunch
10:30 AM - Free Time (approx. 1 hour)
11:30 AM - Return to Dining Room
11:45 AM - Staff Lunch
12:30 PM - Guest Lunch Served
** serve, clear & reset for supper
2:30 PM - Free Time (approx. 2 hours)
4:30 PM - Return to Dining Room
4:45 PM - Staff Supper
5:30 PM - Guest Supper Served
** serve, clear & reset for breakfast
8:00 PM - Free Time until Curfew
** some may work Snack Shop 8:30 - 11:30 PM
11:30 PM - Quiet Time (Curfew)

Sunday
7:45 AM - Arrive for Staff Breakfast
8:30 AM - Guest Breakfast Served
** serve, clear & reset for dinner
10:30 AM - Free Time (Church)
11:45 AM - Staff Dinner
12:30 PM - Guest Dinner Served
** serve, clear & thoroughly clean
2:30 PM - Finish work for the weekend. Please check with the host/hostess before leaving.

Communication:
1. Call Tuscarora when you decide that you are interested in reserving a work weekend.

2. You will receive a letter a few months prior to your work weekend which will tell you how many workers to bring. A deposit of $100 will be requested at that time.

3. We will call you if there are any changes in the number of workers needed by the Monday before your weekend.

4. Please call by Wednesday before your weekend to let us know how many guys and girls to be expecting and to confirm other details.
